Project 1 Timeline and Schedule to Completion

The Timberlake WID Trustees presented this report to the THA Board of Directors on June 8, 2021 as an update on the status and projected timeline for completion of the Timberlake WID’s FY 2021 conservation improvement project to collect and remove sediment from Timberlake.

For planning purposes, the Trustees target start date for dredging work on Project 1 was mid-March to mid-June, 2021 — or approximately 90 days.

- THA Board agrees to provide dredge material disposal site financial support up to, but not to exceed $50,000.
Gift-Contribution received to cover remainder.
- THA agreed to contribute gift of $36,000 to TWID for down payment on the $587,685 negotiated price with C&M Dredging. Contribution brought project cost in line with TWID Project 1 budget amount of $550,000.

RELSWCD approved Project 1 budget of $550,000 and WID tax rate of 15 cents per $100 of Campbell County assessed property value.  Funding note:  Per Tax Code § 10.1-633,
A Watershed Improvement District may accept, receive, and expend gifts, grants, or loans from whatever source received.

Excerpt  from the TWID/C&M Agreement: Commencement of Services; Contractor shall commence work to be performed in February 2021 and shall make every effort to fully complete the work by May 2021. Contractor shall not be responsible for any delays due to weather, fire, strikes, material shortages, Acts of God, owner delays, or other unforeseeable cause beyond the control and without the fault or negligence of the Contractor.
